TERMS & CONDITIONS
This agreement is made between Tedwoods Furniture Limited (“We”, “Us”) and the customer (“You”), for the supply and installation of fitted furniture, as detailed in your Design Document.
By signing this agreement, both parties enter into a legally binding contract, subject to the terms outlined below and in accordance with applicable UK consumer and contract law.
Please read the following terms carefully.
DEFINITIONS
● “You” means the person(s) signing this contract.
● “We” / “Us” / “Our” means Tedwoods Furniture Limited t/a Tedwoods Fitted Furniture.
● “Project” means the item(s) specified in the approved Design Document.
● “Site” means the location where the Project is to be installed.
● “Design Document” means the approved document outlining the Project specifications, finishes, drawings, and additional features.
INSTALLATION
● The Project will be supplied and fitted at the Site. We will notify You promptly of any delays outside of Our control and arrange an alternative installation date where needed.
● We are not responsible for delays caused by factors beyond Our control (e.g. extreme weather, illness, supply shortages), but will complete the work as soon as reasonably possible.
● You must provide safe and reasonable access to the installation area. Ladder-only access or unsafe access is not acceptable.
● The room must be cleared and prepared for installation. Any obstructions may result in rescheduling or additional charges.
● All electrical, plumbing, and preparatory work must be completed to a good standard. Inform Us of any changes or issues before installation begins.
● Do not make significant Site changes, including relocating or removing fixed items, without informing Us.
PRICE AND PAYMENT
● All prices include VAT.
● Quotations remain valid for 30 days from issue.
● A non-refundable booking fee of £300.00 (inc VAT) is required for a Site visit and survey. This is redeemable against the deposit. Rates may vary outside of Norfolk.
● To proceed, a 25% deposit and a signed agreement are required.
● A second payment of 50% is due no later than one month before the agreed installation date.
● The final 25% is payable on the scheduled installation date.
● All payments must be made via bank transfer unless otherwise agreed.
● Late payments will incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily.
● We may suspend work for non-payment.
● Any variations or additional work will be subject to a separate quotation and agreement.
CANCELLATION
● If You cancel within 7 days of paying the deposit, You will receive a full refund, less the cost of any materials ordered or work completed.
● Cancellations after 7 days are non-refundable.
● We reserve the right to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, all payments will be refunded.
● We are not liable for delays or cancellations due to force majeure events, including but not limited to pandemics, severe weather, or supply disruptions.
CARE
● You agree to maintain a stable indoor environment to ensure durability of the fitted furniture.
● You are aware that fluctuations in temperature or humidity may cause cracking or surface damage due to material expansion/contraction and that We can not be held liable for any losses as a result of this.
WARRANTY
● Our Fitted Furniture includes a 5-year Warranty covering manufacturing and installation faults.
Covered:
● Defects due to faulty materials, workmanship, or design.
● Repairs/replacements (at Our discretion) of components like hinges, runners, or LED lights that fail under normal residential use.
Not covered:
● Damage from misuse, neglect, or improper care.
● Accidental damage (spills, knocks, surface scratches).
● Unauthorised repairs or alterations.
● Movement in the building (e.g. settling walls/floors).
To make a claim:
● Contact Us at info@tedwoods.co.uk with a description and photos. Claims must be made in writing within 14 days of identifying the issue. Upon receiving your claim, we will assess it within 10 working days and propose a resolution.
AFTERCARE
● A 30-day snagging period begins upon Project completion. We will address minor issues free of charge during this time.
USE OF PHOTOS
● We may take photos before, during, and after installation for marketing purposes (e.g., website, social media, brochures). No personal or identifiable information will be disclosed.
● If You do not consent to photo use, please notify Us in writing before the Project begins.
HEALTH & SAFETY
● You are responsible for ensuring a safe working environment. We may suspend work if unsafe conditions are present.
OWNERSHIP OF GOODS
● All materials remain the property of Tedwoods Furniture Limited until full payment is received.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
● In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to seek resolution in good faith. If unresolved, matters may be referred to mediation before legal proceedings.
